FRIDAY MARCH 23, 2012 ~ 11 a.m. to Noon ~ Women and fanilies are experiencing these benefits of the ACA:
- Preventive care without co-pays or deductibles, including mammograms, screenings for breast, cervical cancer or diabetes, pre-natal care, immunizations, and colonoscopies.
- End of lifetime limits on insurance coverage
- Cover children with pre-existing conditions: On own insurance plan, or On California’s Pre-existing Condition Insurance Plan
- Young adults under age 26 can remain on parents’ health insurance policy
- Rebate from Medicare for prescription drugs’ “doughnut hole”
- Small business tax credit for providing health insurance to employees
- Coverage beginning in August 2012 for these women’s preventive care services without co-pays or deductibles: contraception, well-woman visits, screening and counseling for: HIV, interpersonal violence, gestational diabetes, human papillomavirus (HPV), sexually-transmitted infections, breastfeeding.
